This week at boxing I met some of the other trainers, including the one that owns the Clemmons location. The owner is the dad of the trainer I normally go to which is Seth. There is another trainer named Jen, which is Seth’s fiance, so most of the trainers there are family. This past Saturday there was an open house held at TITLE. There they had mini classes so people could see what it was like, they gave out prizes and had other businesses there. I continued to go to the classes every day this week, and I have seen some improvement with my skill and my body. It felt like over time I was able to do the punches and the ab workout at the end with much more ease. Over the past week, I have made more friends at the classes, including a guy named Andrew who used to go to another location before the Clemmons one opened. The owner even brought his dog in for a class on Thursday and let us play with him before and after. I have been having a lot of fun doing to the classes recently and it is something that I think I’m going to keep doing for a really long time. Eventually, I would like to try and get to start boxing someone instead of just punching a bag all the time. Going to the class has also helped me deal with a lot of stress I have had lately. You can just go in for a class and let all of your stress or anger out on the bag. Going there was nerve-racking at first because I had never gone before. After going for two weeks it’s easier to go because I have made friends with the trainers and the people who work out there.

Over this past week, I have been to the boxing class every day. They had started a promotion where you can go an unlimited amount of times a month for only $99. I will most likely continue to go every day unless something comes up. Each workout starts with a 7-minute cardio warm-up to get your arms and legs stretched out and warm before the workout. After that, you move into 8 rounds of 3-minute work on the heavy bag with 1-minute breaks in between. To end the workout, you do a 7-minute ab workout. The first week has been more difficult than I would have liked for it to be, but you are allowed to move at your own pace. The trainers there aren’t just telling you what to do, they move around to help you individually if needed, and they come by to encourage you to push a little harder. I’ve become friends with many of the people who work out there already, and I think that’s a wonderful thing. In the past, I’ve had a hard time staying motivated through a whole workout but at TITLE there is rarely a moment when someone isn’t talking to you or motivating you to keep going. This past Saturday there was a technique class that I went to. During that class, the trainer, Seth, taught us the correct stance when punching, foot movements, and how to angle your hand and arm so you don’t get injured. I think that the class was beneficial for the fact that I can now practice the punches in the correct way, instead of doing something that could potentially hurt me. I’ve started to keep a written journal on how each workout is, how I feel after and how I feel throughout the day just to see if there is any improvement of that over time. I’m currently trying to make that into an online journal I can put a link to on my website. Last Wednesday My mom took some measurements of me and I have entered those into Google Sheets which I will update every Wednesday, and it is located under MORE/MEDIA.
On Saturday, my mom and I went to TITLE Boxing Club to get more information of what it was about. We found out more about the club and some of the trainers there. They showed my mom and I around and told us what to expect while I trained there. The facility is a "no contact facility", meaning that there will never be any sparring or fighting allowed there, but they have a ring for further training one-on-one with an instructor. After getting a tour with a trainor, Kenny, I got a locker to put my extra stuff and my mom left. Kenny then showed me the four basic punches and how to correctly do them without hurting myself. A few minutes later the 30 minutes beginner class started. I worked with another lady having multiple short rounds of punching on the bag. To end the class we did a 7 minute core workout with mainly consisted of holding planks, sit up and Russian twists.
